This seminar is sponsored by the US SAILING Race Management Committee and LNYC. It is designed for people who have some race committee experience but competitors, youth sailors, etc. are welcome. It will be held at the Fairfield Inn in Mooresville, NC and will begin at 08:00 am and end by 05:30 pm. The seminar is available to all area sailors but there is a limit on the number of participants so register NOW.

The topics covered will include: RC objectives, RC responsibilities, sailing instructions, RC jobs, RC equipment, setting the course, starting system, starting penalties, before the start, during the race, finishing, and scoring. Those who wish to become a US SAILING Certified Club Race Officer* will have the opportunity to take the test at the end of the seminar. Passing the test is a required segment for certification by US SAILING.

The instructor for the seminar is US SAILING Regional Race Officer and Judge John Slater from Webster, NC. He is an experienced seminar instructor plus assisting John is Certified Club Race Officer Gracia Slater.

For US Sailing Members with valid membership as of 27 February 2010: The fee is $35.00 which includes a light lunch. There is a cash breakfast buffet for $5.95. Included also are US SAILING supplied course materials, Join the Race Committee Team booklet, etc.

For Non US Sailing Members the fee is $65.00. A special Introductory 6 month US Sailing Membership is included in the Non US Sailing fee of $65.00. Forms will be available at the seminar.

Registration ends February 17, 2010. Maximum number of participants is 35.
